Tots 'n' Teens Pediatrics understands that having a sick child causes worry and stress for your family. We offer same day appointments for acute illness and have telephone triage available during office hours to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Same day appointments are available for scheduling beginning at 8 AM. Remember that during stressful times, you and your child will be more comfortable with people that you know.
Often it is better to treat symptoms overnight and be seen in your medical home than to rush to an urgent care facility. If you need help after hours, you can call our office number (205-856-4440 ) and reach the answering service or call the answering service directly at 205-930-4322. You will then be contacted by a trained RN from the Children's Hospital of Alabama Pediatric Health Information Line (PHIL ). The PHIL nurses will discuss your child's symptoms with you and help you decide how best to handle the situation until our office is open. If a life threating emergency is occurring , please call 911 .
