Steven D. Barron, M.D.
A native of Louisiana, Dr. Barron received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University. Dr. Barron is a proud graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine where he made the Dean’s List. He completed his training with The LeBonheurs Children’s Medical Center at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Barron is Board Certified in Pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He joined Tots 'N' Teens Pediatrics in 1995.
Anastasia Nelson, M.D.
Dr. Anastasia Nelson grew up in Riga, Latvia, a small Eastern European Country near the Baltic sea. She moved to the United States at the age of 15 and graduated from high school in Pittsburgh, PA. She then moved to Alabama where she received all of her college and post graduate education. Dr. Nelson completed her undergraduate education at UAB where she graduate Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor degree in Biology. She then received her M.D. degree four years later and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Alabama. Dr. Nelson is married to Dr. Thomas Nelson and has a toddler daughter named Valentina who is excited about becoming a big sister this summer. Dr. Nelson is a board certified pediatrician who is passionate about preventive care and helping young parents navigate the challenging but exciting journey of parenthood. Dr. Nelson joined Tots 'N’ teens Pediatrics in November 2018 and is currently accepting new patients.
Gigi Youngblood, M.D.
Dr. Youngblood grew up in Birmingham. She attended college at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (Go Vols!) and earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She returned home for medical school at UAB. She then crossed the country and did her pediatrics residency at Seattle Children's. She returned home once again and has been practicing general pediatrics in the Trussville area since August, 2008. She joined Tots 'N' Teens Pediatrics May 2023. She enjoys cooking, weightlifting, reading novels, and traveling.
Ashlee Quick, CRNP
Ashlee joined Tots 'N' Teens pediatrics in May, 2024. She has extensive pediatrics experience. Some of you may know her from Urgent Care for Children. She is accepting new patients. We are so excited to have Ashlee on our team! (Picture and more info coming soon)
Megan Smith, CRNP
Megan joined Tots 'N' Teens pediatrics in June, 2024. She has extensive pediatric primary care experience and comes to us after practicing general pediatrics in the Moody and Anniston areas. Olivia accepted a position at Children's of Alabama in the Pulmonary Department in June, 2024.
